The heightened global debate regarding the role of business in sustainability has highlighted many of the challenges and expectations among all businesses, including the manufacturing industry. In our industry, specifically, our most notable challenges are in the areas of energy, waste and emissions and we are committed to protecting and preserving the communities in which we work and live.

We operate in an environmentally responsible manner and are proactive in our approach, exceeding all local, state and federal environmental guidelines. Our family of companies is vigorously focused on the environmental impacts of our products. We take a proactive approach in ensuring that our facilities incorporate systems, processes and controls that minimize our impact on the environment. We continuously develop efficiencies throughout our businesses and reduce internal waste streams at every stage of development, by promoting the beneficial re-use of waste materials, thus reducing landfill disposal. We promote the use of castings without coatings or paint and, as importantly, we continuously educate our employees on more efficient means of operating and the importance of our shared responsibility to the environment. We were delighted when our foundry was recently singled out in its industry for its sustainability initiatives.
